The department was approved as a RESEARCH CENTRE by ANNA UNIVERSITY for doing Doctoral programme since 2023.

6 faculty members are recognized by Anna University as research supervisors. Currently 3 scholars are doing their research activity in our research centre in the field of Additive manufacturing, Autonomous vehicles, Alternate Refrigerants and Alternate Fuels.

Our research centre was equipped with following facilities such as Air Flow Meter, Engine Exhaust Gas Analyzer, Induction Heating Furnace, Specimen Polishing Machine, Double Disc Grinder/Polisher, Free Vibration Test Setup, Vickers Hardness Tester, Surface Roughness Tester, 3D Printer and UTM.
