The staff strength is according to the norms prescribed by the All India Council For Technical Education, New Delhi, Government of Tamil Nadu And Affiliated to Anna University.

Evaluation

Internal assessment tests are conducted in every semester and the same is uploaded in the Anna University web portal along with attendance details.Parents are also communicated about the performance of their wards.They are requested to contact the student’s counsellor with out hesitation to discuss their ward’s performance and other related issues.
Special Coaching Classes are also conducted regularly for those students who could do with some extra help and who have not scored well in the Internal Tests and Model Examinations.

Advisory Bureau

Seminars are often conducted with experts from USEFI, British Council, and IMS. Personality development programs are also arranged for the students so that an all round development is assured.

Counsellors from foreign universities are invited to make presentations in the college campus. The Advisory Bureau also guides the students to obtain direct admission from Universities in abroad.

Industrial Visits

The Panimalar College supports regular studies along with many informative and interesting inputs. Insustrial visits, being one of them,students are taken for 4 industrial visits in an academic year. The industrial visit's enable the students to observe the practical knowledge of what they learn in the class room.This industry exposure makes them to face challenges in the real time scenario and update themselves on varoius technical development.

Mentoring

The Panimalar Engineering College promotes the concept of mentoring so that the student is comfortable and has someone to turn to for advice and voice their problems, if any. Therefore, every student is attached to a staff member who would act as the student counsellor and guide and mentor the student during the course of the academic year. The counsellor will advise/counsell his/her on academics and other activities. Students are requested to approach their counsellor for all their academic needs.

Leave Regulations: ............................................................................................................................................

All students should make note of the following leave regulations and are expected to abide by these rules while they apply for leave.

To avail one day:
For medical leave, the Medical Certificate should be enclosed along with the leave letter signed by the parent.

To avail two days:
Leave letter should be submitted on the previous day itself with the parent’s signature.
(or)
Leave letter should be submitted on the first day of leave through his/her friend.
(or)
Parents shall make a phone call to the office and inform the respective attendance in-charge, regarding their ward’s leave.
For medical leave, the Medical Certificate should be enclosed along with the leave letter, signed by the parent.

Three days and above:
For any family function or other medical/health reasons the parent should come in person and avail the leave from the respective attendance in charge. Otherwise, the administration will be constrained to remove the student from the college.

General:
If the leave taking exceeds 6 days per year, it will be viewed seriously. If the college sends a telegram regarding the leave and other disciplinary issues to the parents of the student, then the parents are requested to come in person and report at the college office. Guardians are not permitted; failure to report may result in removal of student’s name from the attendance register.

All requisition letters for leave, medical certificate, permission, hostel matters including permission and leave should be addressed to the Principal. Students should take prior permission before absenting from the class, failure of which will be viewed seriously and the parents will be informed of the same.

College Timings

College timings are from 8.00 a.m to 3.15 p.m. Students are not permitted enter in to the campus after 7.40 a.m and are also not allowed to leave the college before 3.15 pm. Visitors to meet students are strictly not allowed during the college hours.

Dress Code

All students in the campus should be neatly dressed. All boys are expected to wear self colored pants with their shirts neatly tucked in. They should wear shoes only (Sports shoes and Slippers are not permitted).
All girls should be dressed in Salwar Kameez with V shaped dhupata.They should not wear short salwar/patiala pant/short sleeves/bell bottom pants/Legins.
Students should strictly follow the formal dress code inside the campus.

Entrepreneurship Development Cell (EDC)

The Entrepreneurship Development Cell (EDC) is dedicated to encourage, promote and facilitate entrepreneurial activities among students of our institution. The cell regularly organizes different activities and events to train and motivate the students on entrepreneurship

This cell acts as facilitator and resource institution to motivate, guide and help prospective and existing entrepreneurs in their entrepreneurial endeavors / efforts through positive training interventions. Ever since its inception, the cell has embarked on its flagship programme of continuous innovative thinking in order to enhance the country’s economy.

In view of the worldwide shortage of jobs (both government and private sectors) leading to unemployment problems and lack of proper utilization of human resources; the cell strives to identify talented youth to entrepreneurial works. The cell plans to organize various programs regarding entrepreneurship development.

It provides our student with an informal venue for like-minded individuals to share and discuss their personal experience in starting or running a business. It helps in building support network to bridge individuals and available entrepreneurial resources. Our student gets an insight of the development of new businesses through peer discussion and feedback, speeches by guest entrepreneurs, and faculty support including the Business Plan Competition and on and off-campus entrepreneurial workshops. Leaving no stone unturned in their innovative and constructive pathway, they prove to be the heartbeat of a nation’s progress and prosperity. Thus, the EDC empowers the youth with entrepreneurial skills.

THE CITIZEN CONSUMER CLUB (CCC)

The Citizen Consumer Club of Panimalar Engineering College is an affiliated club to the Department of Civil Supplies and Consumer Protection, Government of Tamil Nadu, which was established in the year 2010. The club has evolved its own objectives in aligning to achieve the common goal of the Department of Civil Supplies and Consumer Protection, Government of Tamil Nadu.

Objectives of the club::

To educate children about rights of the consumers as provided in Consumer Protection Act, 1986
To mobilize youngsters by instilling in them the spirit of protection of consumer rights.
